Norwegian offset printer implements HIFLEX MIS and JDF between five different vendors' systems and realizes ROI of 1847% . PDC Tangen from Oslo is the first Scandinavian
printer that implemented JDF connectivity. Starting early in 2006, they to date have realized most convincing results of process automation implementation which earned them
the 2007 CIPPI Award in the category "Best cost/benefit realization as a result of process automation implementation". The case story of PDC Tangen revealed impressive
benefits of the JDF implementation: an increase in the turnover by 20% (+ EUR 5.2 Mio / NOK 40,6 / USD 7,17), a productivity increase of 25% on the presses and 15% on the
folding machines. The profit after taxes was improved by almost 900%. Calculated on a five year period, the competitive advantage due to process automation amounts to
EUR 5.180.906 / NOK 40,490,404 / USD 7,131,880 and the investment pays itself back 20 times. The CIP4 Award places the offset printer from the North amongst the world-wide
most successful users of process automation technology.

Three companies are awarded the CIP4 Innovation Prize 2007 for their cross-company network. In the past few years, the awards referred to workflow optimization
within the company due to JDF integration. This year and for the first time, the CIP4-Award was given to a network of buyers, printing houses and print finishers,
who use the HIFLEX Software tool for cross-company communication and the handling of inquiries and orders. The awarded implementation integrates three companies:
the print buyer Gutenberg-Werbering from Linz, Austria, Printing House Berlin-Mitte (DBM), who provides Gutenberg with print products and Grieger Offsetdruck,
from which DBM purchases external work (UV varnishing). All three companies now receive the CIPPI-Award for the "Most innovative use of process automation technology".

PDC Tangen in Norway is completely networked - from administration to bookbindery.
When a Norwegian child picks up a schoolbook or children's book, it has most likely come from Aurskog, a small city about 20 miles east of Oslo. This is where PDC Tangen,
the largest Norwegian sheetfed offset printer, is located. Annually, PDC Tangen prints about 1,500 books and illustrated books, circa 120 periodicals, as well as brochures and
annual reports. PDC stands for Print Data Center and Tangen is the name of a recently acquired print shop. The company is larger than the second and third ranking firms in the
Norwegian market combined and the first Scandinavian printer that implemented JDF.

CIP4 awards Köller+Nowak for "Biggest Improvement in Efficiency and Customer Responsiveness". Full-service printing house Köller+Nowak of
"Drupa-City" Düsseldorf had already set a course for automation years ago. In the early stages of their journey, Köller+Nowak has seen that automation
does't just begin when a job is created in the system but much earlier: it begins with the customer's operations. With the implementation of the HIFLEX
eBusiness module in August 2002, Köller+Nowak integrated their customers transparently and efficiently into order processing which provided tangible
benefits for the printing house and eventually has also significantly strengthened customer relationships.
