 At this year's most important printing industry trade show, IPEX in Birmingham (04.-11.04.2006), MIS vendor
HIFLEX will present the status quo of JDF technology on their stand 20-B100. One of the features to be
demonstrated is the new and unique functionality within the HIFLEX MIS (Management Information System):
the modification of PPF ink-key profiles to make them consistent with CIP4-data. This will completely
remove the need for the manual assignment of CIP3-files (normally required in a conventional prepress-press workflow),
and machine presetting is completely automated due to the synchronisation with the CIP4-datastream. |

HIFLEX will present live JDF demonstrations several times per day on their stand. These demonstrations
will show the JDF-link between HIFLEX MIS and the systems from ADOBE, AGFA, KBA, KODAK, KOMORI, MAN Roland,
MBO und MULLER MARTINI. "We're building on our experience from previous exhibitions, and sticking
with this proven concept at IPEX: In our three-screen theatre, we will demonstrate live JDF-interaction
between HIFLEX and other systems. In addition, we will have the facility to give several, simultaneous
individual presentations that allow to go into more details for interested visitors", explains Stefan
Reichhart, CEO of HIFLEX.

At IPEX 2006, new functionality in the HIFLEX MIS will be demonstrated: CIP3 Files (PPF format) are sent from
the prepress workflow system to the HIFLEX MIS, where they are automatically assigned to the order's printing
processes and modified to be consistent with the JDF standard. The presses thus receive all pre-setting data
from a single source. |

The HIFLEX stand, 20-B100, is located in the new MIS zone: a dedicated area for MIS vendors, which is the
first time such a resource has been made available at a graphic arts exhibition. The MIS zone has been
introduced to centralise Management Information Systems and related products. The area begins directly
at the atrium entrance to hall 20. Near to the HIFLEX stand, is the CIP4 organisation's "Process
Automation and JDF Pavilion". CIP4 are responsible for the specification of the Job Definition Format
(JDF) standard. HIFLEX will also present case-studies of real-life installations at CIPPI Award winning
companies in the JDF Pavilion. In the 2005 CIP4 Printing Innovation Award, two HIFLEX customers won the
first prize in two out of the three categories. Another HIFLEX customer was given an exclusive honourable
mention in the third category. |

HIFLEX will not only demonstrate proven JDF connectivity on their own stand and in the CIP4 Pavilion;
they will also be present on several partners' stands, with whom several real-life installation have
already been realized. These live demonstrations will take place on the following vendors' stands:
AGFA, ESKO, FUJI, KBA, KOMORI, MAN Roland, MBO, RYOBI. In total, about 20 HIFLEX licenses will be
installed on partner stands. The widespread acceptance of the HIFLEX System among leading vendors of
prepress-, press-, and postpress-systems underlines HIFLEX's technological leadership in the
area of MIS Systems and JDF. |
