Key personnel within a print organization now have mobile access to critical information within
HIFLEX MIS via iPhone. This allows instant and remote creation of quotations, customer visit reports
and real-time monitoring of production status while travelling on business or away from the office. In the exclusive Drupa-project "HIFLEX goes mobile" HIFLEX demonstrates a world-wide novelty on its
stand 9D44: the mobile access to the HIFLEX system. As a market leading supplier in the field of
graphic production, HIFLEX combined the leading edge technology of its MIS and Web-to-Print solutions
with the HIFLEX iPhone Portal and made critical information and remote capabilities available via
the internet. |
| The practical benefits are obvious. The sales representatives of a print facility can immediately respond
to and deliver quotation requests to their customers while in the field, using an iPhone and a web connection. |
| The world of mobile capabilities encompasses CRM (Customer Relationship Management) and the HIFLEX
customer database respectively, as well as online estimate and JDF/JMF-feedback from production.
Data from the customer database may be accessed at any time. Customer data may be used, modified or
entered. Individual visit reports can be created. Multiple data handling or laborious processes
of data synchronisation are completely avoided. Additionally, online estimating allows the
creation of qualified quotes that can be sent out via email plus PDF attachment. The system
allows the automatic estimation of more than 300.000 print products including custom sized
formats. Finally, even real-time scheduling can be retrieved while on the move and the production
status displayed via JDF/JMF-feedback from press and postpress systems and equipment. |
"HIFLEX goes Mobile" is being demonstrated live on the iPhone by the international
HIFLEX-team on their stand. Alongside with functionalities from the customer database and the
estimate, real-time JMF-feedback (progress on the machine, good sheets and waste etc.) is also
shown in cooperation with KBA, MBO and Muller Martini. For this the HIFLEX server constantly
receives JMF-feedback from the production machinery that the cooperation partners built up on
their respective stands. From the HIFLEX iPhone Portal data are then transferred on the
iPhone via the internet.
At www.hiflex.com/iPhone anybody interested can have a detailed look at these innovative
functionalities. iPhone hardware is not required, just a web-browser. Try it for yourself!
By the way: the now realized mobile MIS access can also be ported onto other mobile devices
such as, for instance, Blackberry. |
