HIFLEX SFDC (Shop Floor Data Collection) and HIFLEX Production Control together report the current
state of progress towards order completion and make it possible to predict further progress in
production and towards completion of an order.
HIFLEX SFDC decentralizes cost control in production. Each employee enters his activities and materials
list. Several employees' records can be entered at a single collection terminal.
Before work starts, employees at the SFDC terminal are shown the planned production processes for
each cost center from the Scheduling and the digital job docket. This guarantees a check of the
current status of production instructions.
To avoid data entry errors, the system is provided with comprehensive security measures and validation
controls; all relevant information can be read in with a barcode reader. Within the system, each employee
is associated with all possible cost centers. Tasks are coupled with cost centers. The start of work
shifts is automatically entered into the system. The employee's user name is associated with his
personnel number. All current order numbers are displayed. The possible shifts for each employee
and the available materials are associated with the orders. The value of the quantities produced each
hour can be determined. Even vacation and personal time and the status of each employee's flexible-time
account can be displayed at the SFDC terminal.
In the SFDC system JMF feedback from a JDF/JMF capable machine can be displayed. The reported quantities
can be passed forward. But even the current production status of unconnected cost centers can be
retrieved with just the touch of a button, because the SFDC system automatically stores all current
entries every 3 minutes in the database.

Apart from employee number, shift and working hours the production data acquisition consists of
individual work processes (entry fields) containing cost center, order number, time, quantity
produced and consumables. JMF-reports from a connected machine are displayed and can be fed into a PDA. |

As the PDA terminal sends the data entered to the database at 3-minute intervals, the retrieved
production status is always up-to-date. |

With HIFLEX PCS, the exact, up-to-the-minute state of production, or past production going back over
several days - can be called up. In doing so, you can select an order, a cost center, or several cost
centers. With the aid of the eBusiness module, this information can also be made available over the internet. |
