The HIFLEX stock module and the supplier database facilitate secure and rapid order processing
through optimum management of all materials. Real-time booking of all stock movements facilitates
"Just-in-time" inventory management and can significantly reduce inventory costs.

In order to simplify inventory management, stock items are assigned to customer-defined item
groups (e.g., sheet paper, cardboard, continuous paper and so on). Paper types can be transferred
automatically from the estimate program's paper database (supplier list) into the relevant item
groups. Each item type can be quantified in several units, such as lbs and sheets, or lbs and reels,
with conversion factors for the various units.
The integrated purchase-order system, for stock and other order-related items simplifies the daily
tasks of the purchasing department. Several types of entry can be combined in a single order for
a single supplier, for example: a free item, items based on an estimate, or items based on reported demand.
Automatic reservation of an item for one or several jobs can be performed as items arrive. Each item
received can be assigned to a storage location and can be relocated later if required.

The access window shows the open orders per supplier. Access quantities can be booked against the
individual order items and be allocated to a storage location, e.g. a rack location. At a later date,
articles can be relocated. |

When goods are issued from stock, the costs are immediately assigned to a job or a cost center.
When individual items are reserved for jobs, available stock is automatically allocated. If a reservation
expires and no stock issue has been recorded, the reserved item is automatically released back
into free stock. The system also offers integrated, individual web roll management for web offset and
continuous printing. This allows incoming stock items to be booked, relocated, issued and released
by means of a barcode.
Through the integrated charge-tracking feature, all booking entries and booking dates can be completed
later and can be entered into an item account, if appropriate. The system can also extrapolate
planned stock levels from current levels, based on open orders and already active reservations, with
timely follow-up. Order-related tools provide a clear overview of ordered, received, issued, reserved
and available quantities. Various search algorithms and validity checks ease the day-to-day burden
on the order managers.
