HIFLEX offers more than 100 statistics and analyses, along with complete and gapless control over
production costs. The integrated leadership feature, "EIS (Executive Information System)",
makes information from various parts of the enterprise automatically available. For easy visualization,
the data is displayed graphically.
Information, when properly used, is a major factor of success. But information gathering doesn't
have to mean plowing through mountains of paper or forests of paper clips. Information gathering
can be automated.
HIFLEX's "EIS (Executive Information System)" functions as a dashboard and is integrated into the
user interface. At a glance, you can see the most important enterprise data, which flows from all
departments to aid in all decision making at all levels.
The user interface is intuitive and can be specified for each individual user thus deploying customized
and individual screens with more or less text, more or fewer graphics and unlimited formats
for the display of data. For example, data can be represented in bar graphs, pie charts, trend charts
and in a combination of single or mixed layouts of diagrams of widely varied types such as radar diagrams,
charts and tables. The system administrator can arrange the dashboard and the user interface
individually.
Information can be analyzed by each specific user or by role, and presented as dynamically generated
tables and graphics. Employees receive only the data relevant to them. Obviously, the information
relevant to CSRs (customer representatives), schedulers and warehouse workers is different from
the information required by top management.
EIS can provide information about all events and occurrences, summarizing the data over an entire
year and displaying the information for individual customers or savings realized, among other
possibilities. Management can then follow the data back to a specific date so as to analyze seasonal
trends. Other kinds of considerations can be chosen for analysis, also; for example, you can perform
an analysis of the business focused exclusively on desired criteria. As an early warning system, EIS
can alert management to particular situations or convergences of data.
At the beginning of a calculation the system shows at the bottom left the relation of estimation
(green) to orders (blue) as well as the customer's actual received orders in the adjacent graphic.
The estimation also shows the production workload of the next three weeks - a valuable tool for
quoting a price offer
Upon logging into the system the main menu already shows key data such as order receipt or
an activity list. Which information is shown on the screen can be set via user administration.
The information dashboard substantially increases transparency for individual managers immediately
upon logging into the system, where they can see noteworthy data on business activity, capacity,
deadlines and so on, without first having to order a report.
If hard-copy reports are needed, the workflow-modeling component creates them. Through workflow,
any program modules can be connected and SQL queries can be embedded in any HIFLEX program
for use with dynamic icons. So, for example, a frequently used SQL query to the order book can
be embedded in the user interface as an icon. When the query is needed, a single mouse click is all
it takes to execute it. Relevant parameters such as the order number of a just-entered order can be
automatically passed from the calling program to the SQL query. Furthermore, the dynamic interface
enables direct output from the query in Word or Excel.
All statistics are based on the database query language SQL and can be copied. Small changes can
be made through menu-directed actions. The statistics are available at any time and over any desired
time period.
In summary, over 100 statistics on cost centers, orders and payroll are available in the HIFLEX
system. The possibilities leave nothing to be desired and provide thorough and gap-free control.
The immediacy and transparency of the data provides a tool that business management cannot
do without. The enterprise's strengths and weaknesses become transparent enabling and guiding
business decisions with real and accurate information.
