HIFLEX MIS is networked with the JDF/JMF capable systems of all printing-equipment manufacturers.
This two-way, real-time communication leads to greater transparency and flexibility in the production process.
Initial order estimation in HIFLEX MIS generates a complete technical production plan, including assignment
of signatures to presses. If the estimate results in a definite order, the relevant order data from the
estimate is transferred directly to the digital planning board (HIFLEX Scheduling), which functions as
JDF controller and enabler. |

In the HIFLEX networked workflow, the printing machines receive the order data (e.g. customer name,
order number, product data) and the relevant production parameter (e.g. format, paper, print run,
number of plates and colors) via JDF from HIFLEX MIS for the automated order creation.

As soon as a job is ready for press, the production planner with just a mouse click sends the pertinent
order data (such as customer name, order number, product description) along with relevant print parameters
(format, paper, print-run, number of plates and colors, PPF-color profile), within a JDF file created
by HIFLEX MIS for every order produced, from the HIFLEX Scheduling to the print-machine system, so
machine adjustments can be set automatically.
JDF order parameters received by the press console are applied and used by the press systems to identify
and select templates at the consoles of orders with like or similar job specs of previously printed jobs
and submit them to the press operator for much faster make-ready times. Additional parameters such as
press "ventilation strips" or "powder settings" are added. So, for example, approximately 170 parameters
can be loaded into a machine. The deployment of this HIFLEX JDF workflow leads to quicker machinery
make-readies and elimination of error-prone redundant press console data entry.
Once the printing process has begun, real-time feedback of the production progress, including machine
speed, number of good copies and waste proceeds and percentage of job completion is sent via JMF back
to HIFLEX MIS. This real-time reporting also flows directly and automatically into the HIFLEX
Production Monitor, HIFLEX Scheduling and HIFLEX SFDC. Production planners and order processors are
always informed of current order status. These scheduling screens are also viewable from anywhere
inside of the plant or from any remote location.
HIFLEX customers using our HIFLEX JDF/JMF networks and workflow have demonstrated that they increase
transparency and flexibility throughout the production process. The result is an increase of up to
25% in printing-machine production sales capacity. |
