HIFLEX uses JDF as the core and fundamental technology basis for the complete networking of
printing with CIM (Computer Integrated Manufacturing). In projects with well-known machinery and
systems providers, HIFLEX has accomplished the most successful JDF installations in the world and
is the absolute technology leader.
HIFLEX is a partner member of the CIP4 Organization, the International Consortium for the
Integration of Processes in Prepress, Press and Postpress.
Integrating the areas of prepress, press and postpress work is technically based on "JDF
(Job Definition Format)" from CIP4. JDF is XML-based and builds on established partial solutions
such as "PPF (Print Production Format)" from CIP3 and "PJTF (Portable Job Ticket Format)" from Adobe. |

The HIFLEX MIS is the core component in networked graphic production. As in the MIS-system technical data
and process relevant data are available (through estimate and production control), the MIS functions as
the JDF-controller (lead processor) for the data exchange between the individual departments and systems
of a printing company. |

HIFLEX uses JDF data structures as its core technology. HIFLEX MIS is then used for the complete integration
and networking of all printing firms who then deploy CIM or Computer Integrated Manufacturing to their
significant advantage in the marketplace. CIM means the integration of all organizational and technical
IT functions that relate to the production process within a central IT system (HIFLEX MIS). The goal is
the common use of all relevant production data as well as an automated production run.
Today, HIFLEX customers have realized many practical applications of JDF in cooperation with major machinery
and systems providers. In many cases, these are the first JDF installations of their kind, worldwide.
In the field of JDF connectivity, HIFLEX qualifies as the world technology leader. Close cooperation with
all major machine and systems providers in the print and media industries makes it possible for HIFLEX to
build software that anticipates future developments. One result of this cooperation is 18 world premier
installations in the field of JDF.

in 16 well-known machinery and system providers demo centers and research & development facilities.
