Quebec, Canada, March 22nd, 2006 - Dynagram, the industry leader in imposition solutions, and Hiflex, the market leading MIS for print and media, announced today upstream connectivity
between the DynaStrip solution suite and Hiflex system for the first time! |
| DynaStrip imports JDF files generated by the MIS or estimation software and initiates the creation of imposition layouts. DynaStrip's JDF import pre-interface extracts JDF 1.2 Stripping
parameters found in the file and ensures that all extracted job parameters are isolated from the application or user defaults. The resulting imposition can be outputted in any format,
including PDF and JDF. Prepress operators can also validate and complete the missing layout information beforehand, for example, a more precise positioning of the signature, page bleed
control, creep adjustment, addition of marks, etc., all settings that are not required for the estimation process but have a great impact on print production and overall quality. |
| Upon a JDF-format output, the imposition information is added to the original JDF file which is then forwarded, along with a PDF marks file, to be executed by Hiflex system. The result:
a streamlined, tangible and open collaboration between MIS and prepress, a feature that until recently was a concept rather than a reality. |

Upon order entry Hiflex transfers job data to Dynagram's DynaStrip system via JDF. The JDF-driven job creation in DynaStrip includes all relevant basic job specifications (order no,
job name, customer details, product parts) as well as imposition layouts and pagination. |

The benefit to users: true means to ensure job integrity at all times. This increased connectivity is also synonym with time saving. No need to create templates, assemblies or pagination.
DynaStrip simply processes the JDF file, without any necessary presets.
"With this upstream integration, we are one step closer to truly automating the imposition process." says Tracey-Lee Batsford, General Manager of Prepress Solutions at Dynagram. |
| "The bottom line of JDF connectivity is process automation. That's where it all aims at." says Stefan Reichhart, CEO of Hiflex. And he adds "Early adopters of JDF technology have
already realised great benefits through networked production. The transfer of JDF stripping parameters by which means the imposition layout is transferred takes it a step further.
It clearly holds the highest potential - it will make one complete process obsolete." |
