CIP4, the International Cooperation for the Integration of the Processes in Prepress, Press and Postpress, brings together vendors, consultants and end-users in the print
communications, graphic arts industry, and associated sectors, covering a variety of equipment, software, peripherals, and processes. The aim is to bring forward process
automation on the basis of generally accepted standards such as the "Job Definition Format" (JDF). |

Starting in 2005, the CIP4 Organization annually and world-wide announces the CIP4 Innovation (CIPPI) Awards for most successful JDF real-life implementations.
In 2007, Hiflex for the third year in succession won two out of the three categories and received second place in the remaining categories. The awards recognize users
and vendors of JDF products for both technical innovation and business improvements. They also demonstrate how Hiflex continues to lead the field in real-world JDF.
Today, Hiflex has conducted more JDF installations than all other MIS vendors combined. |

JDF stands for "Job Definition Format" and is the industry specification designed to facilitate process automation and the integration of different applications and
systems in and around the graphic arts industry. JDF also enables the integration of business management and job planning applications into the production workflow.
JDF is based on the W3C's Extensible Markup Language (XML), ensuring maximum interoperability between different platforms and ready interaction with Internet systems. |
 In the language of JDF as established in the JDF Specification (download at www.cip4.org), the product plan ("Product Intent") and the process definition
("Process Intent") are differentiated from each other. The product definition ("intent") describes the structure of the print product to be produced and is
stored in the JDF data tree structure. The process definition describes the production methods, wheres process groups are connected by input- and output definitions (ressources).
The Hiflex business software philosophy is based on considerations and facts that are consistent with the JDF Specification. A print product that needs to be estimated and
produced generally contains two essential levels of the product definition and the process definition:
The product definition includes information about the product type, number of pages, final format, color, and paper type, as well as special processing forms or refinements.
In the process, a print product is divided into various product components such as cover and content. This is necessary if inks or print substrates vary according to
specific product components.
The process definition is derived from the product definition, because the positions essential for production are already preset through the definition of the product components
and volume. In the process definition, for example, the signatures are defined for which a 28-page content can be produced. This is ultimately dependant on the operational
production facilities, which are, in turn, determined by the machinery available. Only then are the necessary individual processes defined (such as imposition, proof,
plate exposure, production run, refinement, and finishing.) |

 HIFLEX MIS is als een van de eerste Management Informatie Systemen ter wereld JDF gecertificeerd door de CIP4 organisatie (International Cooperation for the Integration of the Processes in Prepress, Press and Postpress Organization) en door PIA/GATF (Printing Industries of America / Graphic Arts Technical Foundation). De certificering werd op 23 mei 2008 afgerond.

Voor het vierde jaar op rij reikt de CIP4 organisatie de prestigieuze International Print
Production Innovation (CIPPI) Awards uit. Deze prijzen belonen wereldwijd innovatieve grafische
ondernemingen voor hun topprestaties op het gebied van integratie, netwerkkoppeling en automatisering.
HIFLEX behoort sinds het begin tot de CIPPI Award winnaars - en ook dit jaar is het weer raak.

 Three companies are awarded the CIP4 Innovation Prize 2007 for their cross-company network. In the past few years, the awards referred to workflow optimization
within the company due to JDF integration. This year and for the first time, the CIP4-Award was given to a network of buyers, printing houses and print finishers,
who use the HIFLEX Software tool for cross-company communication and the handling of inquiries and orders. The awarded implementation integrates three companies:
the print buyer Gutenberg-Werbering from Linz, Austria, Printing House Berlin-Mitte (DBM), who provides Gutenberg with print products and Grieger Offsetdruck,
from which DBM purchases external work (UV varnishing). All three companies now receive the CIPPI-Award for the "Most innovative use of process automation technology".

Integration, Vernetzung und Automatisierung Weltspitze sind. Ausgezeichnet wird natürlich auch die Zulieferindustrie. Heuer unter den Siegern: Gutenberg-Werbering, Linz.
In den letzten Jahren ging die Auszeichnung immer an Druckereien, die ihren Workflow durch die JDF-Vernetzung optimierten. Dieses Jahr gehen die CIPPI Awards erstmals
an Betriebe, die über das Software-Tool HIFLEX Print Support unternehmensübergreifend kommunizieren und Anfragen sowie Bestellungen damit abwickeln. Die prämierte
Implementierung in der Kategorie "Innovativste Nutzung der Prozessautomatisierung" bindet drei Unternehmen ein: Gutenberg-Werbering, Linz; das Druckhaus
Berlin-Mitte (DBM), Berlin und Grieger Offsetdruck, Nettetal-Kaldenkirchen.

 Noorse drukkerij kiest voor MIS en JDF van HIFLEX en behaalt ROI van 1847%. PDC Tangen is de eerste drukkerij in Scandinavië die JDF-connectiviteit implementeerde.
Gestart in april 2006 koppelt het JDF-netwerk nu systemen en machines van vijf verschillende leveranciers aan elkaar: Prinergy en InSite van Kodak, zes persen (37 torens)
van Komori en Mitsubishi (de allereerste JDF-integratie ter wereld van Mitsubishi en MIS), drie vouwmachines van MBO, en het MIS van HIFLEX. In deze geautomatiseerde
workflow ontvangt de prepress de gegevens voor impositie (HIFLEX stuurt zowel de orderinformatie als de JDF Stripping Parameter naar Prinergy), en vindt de voorinstelling
van de vouwmachines plaats op basis van de volgorde en de plaats van de vouwslagen en de informatie over kop- en zijwit vanuit HIFLEX.

 Opnieuw drie HIFLEX-winnaars bij de CIP4 Innovation Awards 2007 De CIP4 Innovation Awards worden elk jaar uitgereikt aan 's werelds grootste succesverhalen op het
gebied van procesautomatisering. En voor het derde jaar op rij waren het HIFLEX-gebruikers die in twee van de drie categorieën op de eerste plaats eindigden en nog een
tweede plaats in de derde categorie veroverden.

 Eind 2002 besloot Patrick Tanghe, Zaakvoerder van Tanghe Printing NV, om een CIM project (Computer Intergrated Manufacturing) op te starten. Het doel:
integratie van alle organisatorische en technische IT functies, gerelateerd aan het productieproces, samenvoegen in een centraal systeem het HIFLEX
MIS systeem. In het kader van procesautomatisering zou het MIS systeem het centrale geheugen vormen voor alle relevante productiegegevens. Sinds het
startschot vier jaar geleden heeft Tanghe Printing zijn totale omzet verhoogt met 45% ( in 2006 was dit 4.8 miljoen euro). Tegelijkertijd verminderde
het aantal werknemers van 35 naar 23.

 CIP4 awards Köller+Nowak for "Biggest Improvement in Efficiency and Customer Responsiveness". Full-service printing house Köller+Nowak of
"Drupa-City" Düsseldorf had already set a course for automation years ago. In the early stages of their journey, Köller+Nowak has seen that automation
does't just begin when a job is created in the system but much earlier: it begins with the customer's operations. With the implementation of the HIFLEX
eBusiness module in August 2002, Köller+Nowak integrated their customers transparently and efficiently into order processing which provided tangible
benefits for the printing house and eventually has also significantly strengthened customer relationships.

 Panel van experts bekroont JDF-projecten van drie HIFLEX-gebruikers. De CIP4 - International Print Production Innovation
(CIPPI) Award voor drukkers die hun productie met succes genetwerkt hebben, ging ook dit jaar wederom naar drie HIFLEX gebruikers.
De internationale CIPPI Award wordt in drie categorieën toegekend. Net als in 2005 waren de HIFLEX klanten in alle drie de categorieën
genomineerd; twee HIFLEX klanten wonnen elk in één categorie, terwijl een derde een tweede plaats in de derde categorie behaalde.

 Begin 2006 is Management Informatie Systeem (MIS) leverancier HIFLEX "Partner Member" van de internationale CIP4 Organisatie geworden. CIP4 is het international consortium
voor de integratie van processen in prepress, druk en afwerking en is verantwoordelijk voor de specificatie van Job Definition Formats (JDF).
De uitbreiding van het CIP4 lidmaatschap betekent voor HIFLEX een maximale samenwerking en deelname binnen deze werkgroep, die uitsluitend toegankelijk is voor een "Partner Member",
(b.v. de "CIP4 Advisory Board", de hoogste autoriteit binnen de CIP4 organisatie). HIFLEX is op dit ogenblik de enige MIS leverancier binnen de CIP4 organisatie met dit niveau lidmaatschap.
"Partner Member" is de hoogste lidstatus binnen CIP4 (Appointed - Associate - Full - Partner), slechts 14 van inmiddels meer dan 300 CIP4- leden zijn partners.

efficiency and customer responsiveness as a result of process automation."
