 ACC HSH and Hiflex successfully demonstrated JDF-connectivity between their systems already at IPEX 2006.

JDF-data-exchange between the two systems. |

ACC HSH's prepress PDF-Workflowsystem is PuzzleFlow. JDFGate is an extension of PuzzleFlow and integrates the PuzzleFlow server with MIS system.
Hiflex transmits all relevant job data to JDFGate via JDF. |
 For automatic job creation PuzzleFlow receives administrative (order number, order description, customer name and address, contact person, etc.) and technical
data (job parts such as cover/content, production plan, number of pages, inks, etc.) sent by the Hiflex MIS via JDF. The job in the prepress system and the
job in Hiflex are permanently connected. This ensures bidirectional real-time communication for the complete order management process.
PuzzleFlow features a native PDF imposition engine. Imposition module rearranges source pages into an imposition layout using signature templates.
JDFGate is able to intercept imposition intent and receive JDF-StrippingParams from Hiflex, calculate layout and submit the results to any PuzzleFlow
queues and RIP or proofer. With JDFGate the imposition intent is automatically converted into prepress imposition layout.
The bi-directional link between PuzzleFlow and Hiflex comprises real-time data exchange with constant transmission of production data (machine usage time,
material consumption, authors' corrections, etc.) to Hiflex while the job is being produced. Manufactured proofs, plates and machine usage times are directly
available for actual cost estimating and produced plates are reported to and visualized in the Hiflex scheduling application. This immediate communication of
available plates has a positive impact on job planning, and scheduling can be handled with enhanced flexibility and efficiency.
The PPF color profiles that were produced in the PuzzleFlow are transferred to Hiflex Scheduling where they are used for a preview of the printing sheet.
Hiflex, moreover, modifies the PPF (CIP3) data from PuzzleFlow into JDF (CIP4) data so that the connected printing presses receive all preset-data from one
source (Hiflex) - instead of partly from Puzzleflow and partly from Hiflex MIS. (Patent-registered procedure) |
